Howdy all, great to see a healthy forum on film making. I'm about halfway through shooting an action piece with some friends, and what little audio we have so far pretty much sucks, but that's okay because I was planning on doing it all ADR anyways. I've got a Sony MD recorder, and I was just wondering if it's a wise move to get a pretty decent mike and hook that up to it, and do all audio recording that way. I'm on a pretty strict budget, so I can only afford one mic (my camera and MD player both use 1/8th inch jacks), so what type should I get? Like a traditional ice-cream cone mic, a shotgun, etc... if I get the ice-cream mic, can I chuck that on a broom stick for a decent boom mic?
Cheers lads.
